Extracting meteorites
Find a rock, keep tension on the winch, and turn the haul into upgrades.
Find one you can extract
Look for the glow at night or use the meteorite radar from your tools. The interactive map marks possible spawn points; a marker does not mean a meteorite is currently there.
Check the player requirement shown in-game before committing. The release configuration lists one-player rocks and larger rocks requiring two to four players. Solo players can keep exploring, earning Pebbles and unlocking vehicles without extracting every size.
Connect and keep pulling
- Park on stable ground with room to maneuver. Select an attachment point on your vehicle, then aim at the meteorite and connect the winch.
- Reel in and maintain tension for a while. A rock may initially seem stuck even while the extraction is progressing.
- If the car slides toward the rock, reposition for better grip. Players report success with a longer line, a downhill pulling angle, or the parking brake to hold position.
- If winching alone stalls, try Low Range and gently drive away while maintaining tension. Stop and change your approach if the vehicle is digging in or approaching an edge.
- For rocks that require more players, have the required crew connect and pull together. Check the in-game reward notification after extraction.
These techniques are player advice, not a verified physics rule. Reports disagree about the need for throttle and crossing the visible circle; neither is presented here as a universal requirement. The game’s own tips describe extracting the rock with the winch to earn Pebbles, rather than hauling it to a separate delivery point.

Do meteorites run out?
Players report new meteorites falling and rocks reappearing between sessions. Treat them as a repeatable activity rather than a finite map-clearing checklist. The reports do not establish a fixed respawn timer or an hourly income rate.

Work toward meteorite achievements
Steam lists achievements for your first extraction, collecting 20 meteorites, spotting a falling rock, and collecting one within five minutes of impact. See the achievement checklist for exact requirements.
